- Mighty Giant: I-Pace Motion Infographic -
Brief
I worked with Mighty Giant to create an explainer animation about the Jaguar I-Pace for Jaguar Land Rover.
My role included:
- Creating the 3D assets (excluding the car model and one of the charging leads)
- Lighting and texturing
- Rigging and animating the car model and charging leads
- Camera work

Approach
We didn't have immediate access to the I-Pace model, so I started the project with a placeholder vehicle. This was used to create a rough animatic, timed to a rough voice-over of the script.
Once we received the I-Pace model, I started looking into the lighting and texturing. This, alongside the rough animatic, would give us a decent forecast for the rest of the development.
Once the visuals and animatic were approved, I moved onto creating the narrative-dependent assets (e.g. charging sockets/pumps). This was followed by animating the I-Pace and charging leads. These parts allowed me to refine the animatic.
After the refined animatic, I was able to start building the environment, and clean-up some of the animations and camera moves.
I rendered the final piece in Redshift. The renders were then passed on to the director to be composited with 2D visuals and post effects.
